Audio Lead

Polyarc is searching for an experienced Audio Lead to oversee all aspects of the game audio experience for Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss. This role will collaborate closely with the design, art, writing, and engineering teams to create an engaging and informative audio experience for players.

As an Audio Lead at Polyarc you will use your creative skills and craft knowledge to lead, develop, and guide the game audio experience on our projects, including sound effects, music, and voiceover. You will work closely with the internal audio team, internal stakeholders, external composers, and outside vendors to ensure a high quality audio experience for our players. You will report to the Audio Director, who will provide support and recommendations throughout the development process.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and participate in all aspects of game audio development on a project–from ideation and content creation to system design and execution throughout all stages of production
  • Collaborate with the Audio Director to develop and maintain the audio identity throughout the project while creating alignment with the game team
  • Define and iterate on the audio development pipeline and infrastructure to improve efficiencies
  • Collaborate across disciplines and within strike teams to build consensus on scope of work and improved workflow opportunities
  • Provide and incorporate feedback to and from team members across the studio
  • Support marketing team by determining scope and resourcing needs with support of the Audio Director
  • Help raise the quality level of audio on our projects through high level content creation as well as through technical system innovations

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an audio lead or principal sound designer through all stages of a game’s development
  • Proven track record of creating amazing, original audio content and systems for games
  • Ability to lead collaboratively by incorporating feedback and creating creative opportunities for the team
  • Able to coach and mentor other members of the audio team as needed
  • Capable of identifying and mitigating risks and tackling complex problems
  • Experience with Wwise and Unreal audio implementation or other comparable engines
  • Thrives working in highly collaborative environments with open feedback culture

Pluses:

  • Experience with Reaper
  • Experience working in VR/AR/XR
  • Experience working with outsourcing teams
  • Scripting or light programming knowledge
  • Experience in post-production and live events
  • Management experience

Compensation:

Polyarc’s salary range for this role is $149,000 to $180,000, with a total compensation target (cash + equity) of $186,000 to $200,000. Any final compensation is dependent on position leveling, taking into consideration the candidate’s qualifications and experiences. Polyarc also offers a revenue sharing plan.
