SEATTLE – May 14, 2025 – Wave, dance, run, jump, and express yourself using modified ASL all as Quill, the hero from the acclaimed Moss franchise, within VRChat. Polyarc, the studio behind Moss, today revealed alongside VRChat that players can now transform themselves into Quill as part of VRChat’s new in-app Avatar Marketplace. To do so, players simply need to log in to their VRChat account, explore the new Avatar Marketplace and purchase the exclusive Quill avatar for 3000 VRChat Credits ($25).
“Quill’s introduction to the world back in 2018 was incredible to witness—we saw players get emotional interacting with her in the Moss demo before we even launched the game, some saying she could become the mascot of VR,” said Chris Alderson, co-founder and studio art director, Polyarc. “We knew we had someone special in Quill, and since then we’ve seen so much love for her out in the wild—from fan art and tattoos, to 3D prints, plushies, and cosplay, it’s been such a joy to see fans show their love for her outside of the game, and now we’re thrilled to give them the opportunity to actually be her in VRChat.”
The Quill avatar in VRChat is an almost exact replica of her from the Moss franchise. She wears her iconic red bandana, backpack, green gauntlet, and players can opt to equip her sword. In addition to her appearance, players can express themselves through her various animations, facial expressions, and use of select modified ASL (she only has four fingers on each hand) and pantomime gestures. All accessible through VRChat’s avatar menu screen.
